Our friend, Sachiko Kanenobu, has lived in Glen Ellen, California for close to fifty years. In 1972 she was a 21-year-old songwriter about to release her debut album, “Misora” in Japan. Sachiko's story is written in New York Time, The Hidden History of Japan's Folk-Rock Boom .

Sachiko's plans in 2018 includes a visit to New York City and New Jersey where she had the first four years of her life and memories in the United States. On April 30th this year, Sachiko will be presented by Joe MacGasko of Surface Noise on WFMU , where he has been consistently playing her music over the years during his programs.

For our community, Sonoma Cultural Exchange will be hosting a concert in Fall 2018 to celebrate Sachiko with her fans in the United States. We will update with the venue and the artists who will collaborate and participate in her hometown concert in California in Fall 2018.
